I'm Dheeraj, a Cosmology PhD student at Instituto de Fisica de Cantabria (IFCA), Santander, Cantabria, Spain. My research sits at the intersection of the early universe and modern computation — I work with CMB data and apply machine learning techniques to extract cosmological signals from noise.
Outside research, I build open-source tools to scratch my own itches and sharpen my craft. I'm drawn to software that is fast, minimal, and respects the user's time.
Research Interests
- Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) — analysing the oldest light in the universe to constrain cosmological parameters.
- Machine Learning in Astrophysics — applying deep learning to separate cosmological signals from foreground noise.
- Data Analysis & Simulation — building pipelines that turn raw observational data into science-ready results.
Side Projects
- LEKTRA — A high-performance document and image viewer built for screen space and keyboard-driven control.
- RunnR — Shape shifter 3D platformer game
- ChainD — 3D Rube Goldberg Machine simulator game with a twist
- SonoPix — Converts images into soundscapes by mapping pixel data to audio frequencies.
